Job Title: Milling and Engineering Intern

Department: Plant Operations

Location: Russell, KS

Major Job Responsibilities and Activities:  Our Milling and Engineering Interns will have the opportunity to work many different aspects of our plant operations. Opportunities to work on project that will improve operations, be involved in problem solving teams, and support the daily plant operations. Our internships allow individuals to be exposed to all aspects of running a manufacturing facility to help you develop your longer-term career aspirations.

Assignments may include work such as:

  • Optimizing Plant performance
  • Leading problem-solving teams
  • Running Capital projects
  • Plant performance evaluation
  • Supervise Work teams

Possible Projects Include:

  • Mill Flow Analysis
  • Mass Balance Analysis
  • Equipment Reliability Improvements
  • Energy Savings Improvements
  • Safety Improvements
  • Workflow design

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree or at an institution with an accredited program in Bakery Science, Food Science, Food Processing, Milling Science, Engineering, Microbiology or related field.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative to identify areas of opportunity and take action
  • A high level of competence in computer applications and the ability to use technology
  • Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives, identify deviations from the plan, and facilitate resolution
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion within and outside of the organization
