QA/QC Manager


POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Quality



PureField Ingredients is looking for a QA/QC Manager to work at our Russell, KS manufacturing complex. We operate two intergraded manufacturing plants, an Ethanol Plant and a Vital Wheat Gluten Plant.  This position is responsible for continuous improvement, training, and maintenance of the Quality Assurance Systems, Food Safety, Sanitation, GMP & HACCP, and SQF programs at our Vital Wheat Glute Plant.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing and following all food safety, quality assurance, labeling, and SQF policies and procedures along with management of staffing.

Responsible for the safety for all employees under their supervision by conducting safety orientation and training of employees, enforce safe work practices, correct unsafe conditions, prevent lingering unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards.

Oversees internal activities related to food safety, product quality, microbiological performance criteria, finished products, SQF and HACCP systems, government regulatory compliance (including FDA), inspection criteria, and customer complaint investigation and response.

Supervises and assists with programs to include environmental monitoring, recall administration, good manufacturing programs and sanitation standard operating procedures.

Routes, investigates trends and closes all customer complaint issues.

Ensures all staff are trained on food safety and quality related items.

Works as a liaison for plant audits.

Assists with development, implementation, and administration of new and existing QA policies.

Ensures that all company standards and government regulations are met.

QUALIFICATIONS viewed as a plus:
Certified in a FSMA quality management system such as SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000 or others.
HACCP Certified
Other duties as assigned


Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline is a plus. SQF Practitioner and HACCP certification preferred.
