Ethanol industry gets boost from EPA decision to lift E15 restrictions

The U.S. ethanol industry is celebrating a decision by the Environmental Protection Agency to lift a summertime ban on the use of E15, a fuel blended with 15 percent ethanol. The EPA’s action allows the sale of E15 fuel throughout the year.

“This is an important milestone for the ethanol industry that should significantly increase the amount of ethanol blended into gasoline. As a result, it will help us further reduce emissions and lower prices at the pump,” said Greg Thompson, PureField Ingredients CEO.

SVPGlobal Completes Purchase of White Energy’s Food Ingredients and Biofuels Business in Russell, Kansas

Strategic Value Partners, LLC and its affiliates (“SVPGlobal”), a global investment firm with approximately $8 billion of assets under management, today announced that is has completed its purchase of White Energy’s food ingredient and ethanol business.

The transaction includes two integrated plants in Russell, Kansas: the largest vital wheat gluten manufacturing facility in North America, and one of the most cost-efficient ethanol production facilities in the United States.
