Experienced agri-food leader to guide next phase of growth and innovation
RUSSELL, Kansas, Sept. 3 2024 — PureField Ingredients, a leading U.S. supplier of vital wheat gluten and ethanol, today announced the appointment of Aaron Buettner as Chief Executive Officer, marking a new chapter in the company’s continued growth and evolution in the food ingredients sector.
Over the past several years, PureField has strengthened its position as a key player in the industry. The company will continue advancing its value creation strategy by expanding as a value-added provider in the food ingredients space, enhancing its role as a strategic solutions partner, broadening its ingredient portfolio, and maintaining a best-in-class low carbon footprint.
Buettner joins PureField from Bunge, where he most recently served as President of its $8 billion Food Solutions business. During his tenure, he helped transform Bunge’s food business into a market leader in oilseed ingredients through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
He brings nearly 30 years of experience supplying grain- and oilseed-based ingredients to leading food manufacturers, along with deep familiarity with PureField’s customer base. Prior to Bunge, Buettner spent 19 years at Cargill in a variety of commercial leadership roles, including international assignments in Russia and China. His experience building value in agri-food businesses will be instrumental as PureField continues its growth trajectory.
